What is SGT? The Redcat Motors SGT (Selective Gear Transmission) is a semi automatic transmission with dual mode gear selection option that permits parents or guardians to select how they want the child to ride. Most youth ATV's are manufactured with a single speed transmission, meaning that single speed atv's are set to one gear only. This limits the minimum or maximum power the drive-train can produce. A single speed transmission limits the usability of the atv by not producing ample torque in some situations. While a single speed transmission may be a good choice for the beginner on flat terrain, Redcat has created the SGT models as another option. With SGT you have 4 options to match the gear selection to the terrain and riders enjoyment and two modes to choose from.
